"Investigations of innovation too often focus on the products, not on the people and the creative processes and conditions that generate those products" -Mark Runco

I, Mikko Ahonen, have started this blog to integrate different viewpoints on creativity and innovation. I hopefully can provide some ideas for You to digest :-)

As you may have guessed, I live in Tampere, Finland. My father is an entrepreneur-inventor. I tried to "escape" my destiny for years, but my resistance was futile and I ended up ... doing innovation research and starting new initiatives ;-) To me innovation is not only a positive thing, so, this blog contains also discussion about risks, ethics and responsibility. My EMF- and RISK-tagged stories discuss about these ethical topics.

My friends describe me as smiling, energetic, social and ... impulsive. Still, I may be also dull, absent-minded and sarcastic especially when I am tired ... or really focused - a complex personality ;-)

I started to write this blog (http://beyondcreativity.blogs.com) for my on-going information systems dissertation, but nowadays it covers also my work and personal interests.

Thanks for reading and commenting this blog!

Take care

Mikko

"My feeling is that the concept of creativeness and the concept of the healthy, self-actualizing, fully human person seem to be coming closer and closer together, and may perhaps turn out to be the same thing." -Abraham Maslow

Prof. Dr. Huai Chiang (Zhejiang University China) opened her speech at the international cell phone conference (June 2000) Salzburg (Austria) with the following words:

“In earlier days we did birth control (read: sterilization) with microwave radiation. Today we use it to phone, very nice!”
